During my time at Hope Alliance as the Crisis Victim Advocate, I worked with a number of clients who had experienced religious abuse. Abuse from faith communities, ministers and clergy, and misinterpreted religious texts.
Religious abuse creates profound questions and there are few healthy resources addressing spirituality after abuse and assaults.
Most resources victim blame in quiet ways and I could not give them out. Thus I created a resource brochure for the organization and our clients. I modeled this material from the TAASA resource, but rewrote the content.
